Mercer University partners with Macon-based Creek Media LLC and Houston County-based SportsMic to form the Mercer Sports Network, the flagship platform for the radio broadcasts of all Mercer football games. The Drew Cronic Coach’s Show (presented by Burger King) is aired 7-8 p.m. on Thursday nights during football season live from Wild Wing Café and also can be watched on Facebook Live. The Creek (100.9 FM) and SportsMic each feature free downloadable apps for smart phones and tablets that allow access to Mercer games from any location.
The Mercer Sports Network is fronted by Rick Cameron, the “Voice of the Bears,” who is in his 19th year of calling radio play-by-play for Mercer with more than 900 games under his belt. Cameron is joined by Billy Andrews (color analyst) and local Macon musician and voice of 100.9 The Creek Charles Davis (sideline reporter).
The Mercer Pregame Show begins one hour before kickoff each Saturday. The SportsMic team of Greg Elrod and Cole Powell also generate a Mercer Tailgate Show one hour earlier on the day of home games.
